AIRPORT HOTEL - SOUTH PORCUPINE

A fixture in South Porcupine, the Airport Hotel. There are no runways here but a haven for float planes as the hotel is at the shoreline of Porcupine Lake. The building is quite nice to look at but the real eye catcher is the neon airplane on the roof.

Someone was asking information about the hotel. I would suggest contacting the Timmins Museum or City Hall. Good luck! Write back if you had any luck.

I believe that my great-grandparents owned the Airport Hotel in the 1950s maybe into the 1960s. My mother tells great stories of visiting her grandparents there. They were Armand and Louise Dalpe. I'd love to learn more about the hotel.

Hi -

Love the Timmins photos.

I have website on highway 11, kind of like a travel blog. I'm just getting to writing about my time in Timmins but I've lost most of my digital photos since I last visited. I was wondering if I could use a few of your photos of Timmins on my site. Happy to credit you in any way you'd like.

I'd email you but couldn't find a link. My name is Marc and you can contact me at info@highway11.ca. The site is highway11.ca

Thanks
Marc.
